In 1994 Gabe Hinkebein decided to sign up for a military history class in College. The class was taught by an Army R.O.T.C. instructor who managed to convince Gabe that "it would be fun" to spend his summer at Basic Training styled camp at Fort Knox, Kentucky. Upon succesful completion of the program, Gabe returned to campus and donned a camouflage uniform and officially enrolled in the Army R.O.T.C. program. After he attended Officers Advanced Camp at Fort Lewis, Washington and Airborne School at Fort Benning, Georgia, Gabe was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant.
As a member of the Southeast Missouri State University Debate team, Gabe began to contemplate a legal career. The Army agreed to allow him to take a three year educational delay on his military committment, and he enrolled in the University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Law.
Upon completion of Law School, Gabe was selected to enter the Army's Judge Advocate Generals Corps. During Gabe's six plus years as an Army "JAG" he tried over 60 cases as a prosecutor, a Special Assistant United States Attorney and a Defense Counsel.
Additionally, he represented over one thousand soldiers and their family members in a variety of legal issues as a Legal Assistant Attorney. From Family Law, to Estates and Trusts, to Landlord Tenant law, to Taxation law, and more, Gabe provided competent and compassionate representation.
In early 2007, Gabe decided to leave the Army and pursue a civilian legal career. He has now opened The Hinkebein Law Firm in Kansas City, Missouri, as a way to better serve his individual clients. His diverse practice allows him to assist his clients in a myriad of challenging legal issues.
